Drought Effects on Peanut growers

Almost Empty

Almost Empty

A trip out to Kingaroy last week to pick up peanuts from the Farm.

All the silo’s are getting empty. Last years dry weather meant that only 50% of the normal crop of peanuts was planted around Kingaroy. Fingers crossed that the farmers will get some rain on the way towards Christmas this year so they can get their crops in.

Have a look at your local supermarket, there will be quite a lot of imported peanuts on the shelves this year.
